This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1929 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before a time my Great Aunts can remember. :-) I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes.

Late Victorian or Early Edwardian Pink Outfit
From the seller:
This lovely Victorian dress is made from a beautiful silk in deep pink with a white and burgundy ribbon swirled pattern. The bodice is lined in pink cotton with boning in the seams. It has an ivory satin yoke, collar and midriff, overlaid with lace and trimmed with narrow black velvet ribbon. The collar has be relined and needs hooks and eyes at the back. The pink silk bodice curves up to a point at the bust and is trimmed with looped ribbons. The sleeves have narrow ruffles over the shoulder with ribbons and there are bands of fabric over the upper arms with knots in the center. The sleeves have narrow bands of lace around the wrists. It measures 32 inches around the bust, waist is 22, across the back shoulders is 10 1/2 inches. Underarms have very light stains, there are small spots on one side on the pink to the left side of the center. The skirt is on a narrow waistband and is gored. It has a scalloped ruched ruffle trimmed with velvet ribbon on the edges. There are 4 ribbons around the bottom edge,on the downward curve the bottom edge of the skirt is gathered to the ruching. It's lined in pink cotton. It has a couple of stains toward the bottom and a few light water spots. It measures 21 1/2 inches around the waist and is 44 inches long in front, dipping longer in back. Very good to excellent vintage condition.
From me:
The color is stunning. My guess is this a late 1890's, early 1900's walking outfit. The skirt is very 1890's but the bodice construction looks a bit more fashion forward.
