Pretty WWI Era Gown

Paquin Paris Edwardian trained wedding gown

Stunning silk satin 1910 gown with rectangular train.  Front panel shows handmade Irish crochet, needle lace & embroidered net. The lace panel hangs over a pleated top skirt that flares slightly at the hips.  (See extra photos -- isn't it a precursor to the 30s?).  Beaded back collar covered with pearls hooks over the fabric-backed hook and eye closure down the back.   Snaps on pointed sleeves.  Round weights inserted in waist on both sides of label. 

Underskirt is edged with 13" wide accordion pleated tissue silk that is splitting on pleats.  A few water stains on train and tears in tissue silk lining where the train dragged.  A couple stains, like on the lower right hip.  Absolutely gorgeous with the asymetrical train.  I dare say it's more impressive than Worth.  As beautful inside as out -- even the train hem is finished with ribbon-inserted lace trim.  Closes with three layers of hooks and eyes.
