Antique Edwardian Tall Corset with Lacing Rear and Original Garters
This corset dates to the Edwardian era and is fashioned of a cotton which is heavily boned vertically throughout. The front closes with a steel ball and hook closure, rear has grommet holes for lacing with the original long laces still present. The top is trimmed in a machine embroidered scallop edging, bottom in its original garters which have scrolled metal buckles. There is some age related staining, some small thumbprints of water staining in the rear, but remains fully strong and wearable. Measures 27 inches around the waist, 34 inches around the top, 44 inches around the bottom, with a rear busk measurement of 17 inches. The corset is measured with the lacing fully closed, will fit a wearer several inches or more larger.
Vintage clothing is described to its best and sold as found…and described as accurately as possible. The items HAVE NOT been cleaned and should be cleaned prior to wearing at the discretion of the buyer. Often for proper fit, hang, and wear ability, pieces will need to be altered and/or adding a hook or snap here or there, with a seam closure or strengthening needed. Vintage clothing is most often worn previously, and if old stock, often has slight imperfections from storage, a hint of color or odor.
