Girl's Turn of the Century Dress

From the seller:

An original circa 1898 girl's bright pink woven plaid silk dress with a pale pink pleated silk charmeuse yoke and matching sleeves, trimmed in a silk gimp, with a pleated bodice, a gored lined skirt with a cartridge pleated back, a blind hook and eye closure, and a bias cut ruffled hem. 13" from shoulder to shoulder, a 29" chest, 26" waist, and 36" from shoulder to front hem. I'm guessing an 11 or 12 year old girl. Some scattered organic spots to the skirt, most at the back, some perspiration marks, and some surface wear and some splitting to the sleeves and shoulder tops. Pretty good condition, i'd say.

From Me:

Am I the only one that thinks their Samantha Doll needs a copy of this dress?

  1. Not this one. It's out of style by Samantha's time and she has too much pink. Maybe in another color? My Samantha prefers to run around in her play dress and middy dress.
