Men's Wonderful Velvet Waistcoat

From the seller:

I BELIEVE THIS TO BE MID 1800S, IS ALL HAND SEWN WITH GREAT DETAIL.TRIMMED IN A PIPING ALONG COLLAR, POCKETS AND WAIST, THERE IS A BIT ON THE WAIST COMING LOOSE. THE WAIST IS ALSO LEATHER BACKED. DOUBLE BREASTED, HAS 2 TINY BRASS BUTTONS WITH ANCHORS ON BUT I DON'T THINK THEY ARE ORIGINAL. SO NEEDS 4 PERIOD BUTTONS. INSIDE IS A POLISHED COTTON.ON EACH FRONT BOTTOM POCKET THE CENTRAL SEAM IS OPENED AND NEEDS RESEWN I HAVE PICTURED THAT. OTHERWISE GREAT CONDITION. MEASURE 36" CHEST AND 30" WAIST AND IS 21" LONG. GOOD EARLY PIECE.

From Me:

It looks to be about 1860's to me.
