1867's CIVIL WAR PLAID SILK GOWN FOR STUDY
Offered for study, and recently de-accessioned from a major New York museum costume collection, with its museum accession numbered tag attached. A fetching 1867’s Civil war era green and blue plaid silk gown. The neck. and armscyes are piped. The gown is lined with brown cotton and has a front button closures. The gown is in fair for study condition. There is no underarm discoloration and many splits in the fabric scattered about. Some buttons have come loose and are in the side pocket. I have tried to photography many of them.
MEASUREMENTS: Bust 32", Waist 36", Length from shoulder to front hem 53", Length from shoulder to back hem 59", Width at hem line 143". A beautiful display gown.
