1920's Blue Velvet Dress

From the seller:

QUEEN OF THE FAIRIES ENCHANTS you with this exotic royal blue velvet flapper party dress, circa the 1920's. The dress is asymmetrical, with the bodice cut to one side exposing an underbodice of gold metallic lame covered with a layer of black embroidered net. This same treatment also shows at the sides of the bodice, see photos. The net has gold, blue and pink embroidered flower design. This matches the blue of the velvet and the pink of the ostrich plume on the lowered waist band. The ostrich is sewn to a circular ornament, filigreed and studded with large diamentes. The skirt is also asymmetrical, there is a deep pleat to one side, falling under the diamente and ostrich. The dress has a china silk lining. Except for the skirt side seams the dress appears to be completely made by hand. The dress is in very wearable condition, ready to be worn. The underarms are not torn. No tears, no need of repairs. The dress is sturdy and wearable. You may find upon close inspection one or two minor pin holes/fabric flaws like all old fabric develops, some softening of color or some areas where the velvet is crushed, but no large holes or tears to distract, this is in excellent condition, see all the many large photos below, all can be seen in the photos. The dress pulls on over the head wth a 35 inch bust, so about a size 4 or so.... Look to my store to see my other unique items.
